FAQs
About ShopOps
What is ShopOps?
ShopOps is an agent-native e-commerce platform and marketplace built for the To-Agent commerce era.
It programmatically matches user agents (e.g. ChatGPT) with real merchant supply (products and inventory), carries transactions, and monetizes via commission.
ShopOps is not infrastructure and not a SaaS tool. It is a platform-level marketplace with clear transaction, fulfillment, and responsibility boundaries.
How is ShopOps different from traditional e-commerce platforms?
Traditional e-commerce platforms are built for human browsing and manual operations.
ShopOps is built for AI agents as the primary buyers, featuring:
- No consumer-facing UI
- No manual merchandising
- Programmatic agent-to-supply matching
- Transaction-based monetization (CPS)
Who is ShopOps designed for?
ShopOps serves three participants in the To-Agent commerce ecosystem:
Merchants & Brands
- Shopify merchants via a Shopify app integration
- Independent or headless merchants via ShopOps APIs
AI Applications & Agent Builders
- Consumer-facing AI apps and agents via the ShopOps SDK
Platforms & Ecosystem Partners
- Entities seeking a ready-made agent-native commerce platform
Is ShopOps an infrastructure or middleware product?
No.
ShopOps may use a headless architecture internally, but its business nature is a platform marketplace, not infrastructure.
It:
- Matches demand and supply
- Carries transactions
- Takes commission
- Owns platform-level responsibility
What does ShopOps not do?
ShopOps does not:
- Operate a traditional consumer marketplace UI
- Act as a SaaS optimization dashboard
- Require merchants to manage agent-specific feeds
- Run ads or paid marketing campaigns
- Monetize via subscriptions or arbitrage
- Change merchant pricing without control
Data and Privacy
What data does ShopOps access?
ShopOps accesses only data required to:
- Represent merchant supply to agents
- Enable transactions and fulfillment
It does not access payment card data or Shopify admin credentials.
Does ShopOps collect customer personal data?
No.
ShopOps does not intentionally collect or profile end-customer personal data. Any incidental data is processed only to complete transactions and is not used for advertising or resale.
Is merchant data used to train AI models?
No.
ShopOps does not use merchant data to train generalized third-party AI models. Data is used only to operate the ShopOps platform for the same merchant.
AI and Platform Behavior
How does ShopOps use AI?
AI is used to:
- Interpret supply for agent reasoning
- Normalize attributes and intent signals
- Optimize matching and distribution via online learning
AI does not autonomously act on behalf of merchants.
Pricing and Support
How does ShopOps make money?
ShopOps monetizes purely via transaction-based commission (CPS), typically 10–25%, charged only when a transaction is completed through the platform.
There are no subscription or fixed SaaS fees.
Is ShopOps in beta?
Some features may be released in beta as the platform evolves. Core platform behavior and economics remain consistent.
Legal and Compliance
Is ShopOps compliant with data protection regulations?
ShopOps is designed to align with major privacy frameworks (GDPR, CPRA, PDPA, etc.). Details are available in the Privacy Policy.
